Merry Christmas 2009

We all hope that you had a wonderful Christmas this year. We did. We had family over for Christmas Eve to eat with us and Eric smoked 2 turkeys and fried one. Needless to say, we still have turkey in the fridge a week later.

DSC_0217Don’t they look delish. One of them was injected with Rosemary Garlic Butter and the other was basted with a Maple Brown Sugar glaze. Eric outdid himself this year.

DSC_0223The chicklets sure love their Uncle Michael.

DSC_0224Amy helped me cook when they got there. I was about to fall out I was so tired.  I had to work the night before and Eric got up early to cook the turkeys so we were wore out by the time everyone arrived.

DSC_0257Chicklet #1 get a guitar from Santa. She has been wanting one for a long  time. She was so excited. She has played it every day since.

DSC_0260 Chicklet #2 got a new DS from Santa. She really needed a new one. She had to hold hers just right to keep the screen from flopping on her.

They also received Bibles from us this year. Chicklet #1’s Bible has science experiments and other things to make learning more fun. Chicklet #2’s is a “Read the Bible in a Year for Kids.” She has already read the kids Bible that she has twice so she was excited to get a new one.

It was a small Christmas this year but a good one. We really stressed to the chicklets that it was about spending time with friends and family, not the amount of presents you get.  think they are starting to get that. I really want them to know what the real reason for the season is.
